How to get there:
Just take any trams heading towards Melbourne University (1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 16, 64, 67, 72) on Swanston Street. It’s stop number 6 – cross the traffic lights and walk on (in the direction of Melb Uni). It is right after Dinkums.
Arrow will be on your right.

KUAM Mt Buller Snow Trip 2006

We are pleased to announce that KUAM Mt. Buller Snow Trip is now open for bookings. Details of the trip are as stated below:

• Date – 29th July 2006 (Saturday)

• Time – 6.00am (Malaysia Hall)
6.30am (Corner of Bourke & Swanston St. – In front of Starbucks)

• Fee - $55 (Members)
$58 (Non-members)
*Fee includes transportation, entrance fee, breakfast and lunch.

Please note that the cost of renting snow attire (jackets, pants etc.) and ski equipment (snowboards, ski, toboggans etc.) is not included in the above fees.

Here is an estimation of how much you need to pay to rent the following items:

• Skis, boots and poles - $35
• Snowboard, boots and wrist guards - $42
• Jackets and pants - $27
• Jackets or pants - $17
• Toboggan - $8
• Chairlift - $70 (student price – please bring your student ID)

If you plan to go for sightseeing only, all you need to pay is the abovementioned $55 (Members) and $58 (Non-Members).

UMNO Cup 2006

A bit of intro here....

UMNO Cup is an annual soccer tournament organised by KUAM intended for all Malaysian students in Melbourne. It's usually held during the Easter holidays giving it the nickname 'Easter Cup'. It is one of the most awaited event throughout the year drawing teams in as far as from Adelaide. This year we've agreed to have a two day tournament with 8 teams competing for the Cup.

Hope you guys will be there to brighten up the atmosphere...Bring all your friends along. The more the merrier...

Just as a reminder - Do buy the Sunday Saver ticket for your travel on Sunday the 16th as it will be cheaper and usable throughout all zones for the whole day.

KKDN tahan pengedaran buletin Pas dalam bahasa Cina

ALOR STAR 6 Jun - Kementerian Keselamatan Dalam Negeri (KKDN) hari ini menghalang Pas daripada mengedarkan buletin berbahasa Mandarin terbitan parti itu kepada para perwakilan muktamar Dewan Muslimat Pas Ke-46 di sini.

Pegawai dari Bahagian Kawalan, Penerbitan dan Teks Al-Quran KKDN Kedah yang diketuai pengarahnya Heizrul Ali, turut merampas beberapa nashkah buletin Ren Min Shi Shi (Berita Rakyat Semasa) terbitan Lajnah Perpaduan Nasional dan Lajnah Penerangan Pas Pusat itu.

Salah seorang muslimat Pas, yang enggan namanya disiarkan, yang mengedarkan buletin itu, berkata KKDN datang sejak pagi lagi sebelum acara perasmian itu berlangsung memantau pengedaran buletin tersebut.

Katanya, pegawai KKDN memberi alasan buletin keluaran bulan Jun setebal lapan muka surat itu yang memaparkan isu-isu semasa dan berita bergambar aktiviti komuniti masyarakat Cina bersama Pas, tidak mempunyai permit penerbitan.

Buletin itu telah diedarkan secara percuma kepada hampir 300 perwakilan dan pemerhati dan sebahagiannya dijual kepada orang ramai pada harga 50 sen senaskhah, sebelum ia dirampas.

Pengerusi Kelab Penyokong Pas Nasional, Hu Pang Chua ialah editor buletin itu dan berita mengenai penerbitan buletin terbabit disiarkan dalam sebuah akhbar harian berbahasa Mandarin hari ini.

- Dalam banyak2 porn magazines/majalah2 'panas' yg x ada permit, depa buleh plak tahan this one. Are you going to be one of the 'kaki kipas' government? Just a thought...

KUAM is a non-profit student organization that serves to unite all Malaysians in Melbourne - the Malays in particular - in order to create a sense of togetherness and unity among us. Bagi memupuk dan menguatkan jati diri kita semua sebagai rakyat Malaysia, adalah penting untuk kita mempunyai satu badan yang bertindak sebagai medium untuk mewujudkan kesepaduan ini. Ini adalah fungsi utama KUAM.

Untuk pengetahuan anda, KUAM bukan satu badan politik atau mempunyai apa2 agenda politik yang tersendiri. KUAM bernaung di bawah UMNO pusat di Malaysia dan menyokong aspirasi kerajaan ke arah mewujudkan satu bangsa yang Cemerlang, Gemilang dan Terbilang. Namun untuk pengetahuan, KUAM tidak mempunyai apa2 kaitan dengan sebarang keputusan dan keadaan politik di Malaysia. Ini berbalik kepada fungsi asal KUAM.

I hope you would now understand what KUAM is all about. Saya amat mengalu-alukan penyertaan anda di dalam aktiviti2 KUAM - bukan sahaja bagi mengeratkan silaturahim sesama kita tetapi juga bagi memberi anda peluang untuk melihat sendiri dan menilai sendiri fungsi KUAM di sini.

someone_yg_kesian: A'kum. With regards to your question, there are seven Kelab UMNO in Australia alone and 42 Kelab UMNO Luar Negara in 14 countries all over the world with over 4,000 members. How to get there:

For guests using public transportation -
Take Tram 16 (St Kilda Beach) from Swanston St. It will go into St Kilda Road and later turn right into Fitzroy St. The stop number is 134. Catani Garden is on the right and the BBQ venue is at the end of the garden.

For guests with your own transportation -
Please refer to the Melway 57 J9. Parking lots are available along Catani Garden as well as along Pier Road next to the beach.
